The Gould and Curry Silver Mine was one of the richest Comstock Lode silver ore producers in the mid 1860's. By the time this check was written it was on the downswing in production, but its prestige lasted well into the 1870's. It was the only known user of checks with a B17 imprint and a Nevada State imprint to the left in green.
