S. Brown Sigesmond

Very little seems to be known of S. Brown Sigesmond or his products, other than the major one must have been sold for $1 a package or bottle, as he needed a four-cent proprietory stamp. It was first issued on October 10, 1881 and last on September 30, 1882, three deliveries in all, for 20,400 stamps, all printed on watermarked paper. Plates were printed with 170 stamps and divided into four panes, with a horizontal pane line between the ninth and tenth stamps. This line can be seen at the bottom of the stamp shown.
