Wm. Bond & Company

William Bond was a match manufacturer in Portland, Oregon. The stamps produced for the Anchor Match Company were first printed in black, from September, 1877 until February, 1878, then in dark green from sometime after February in 1878 until mid-April, 1883. 67,500 were issued in black, on silk paper, and 400,000 were issued in green, on silk, pink and watermarked papers. The green copy shown is on watermarked paper.
